About Me
Life coaching springs out of who I am. I am no stranger to personal pain and family difficulties. I understand codependency, have seen first-hand the effects of addiction and family dysfunction. I also know the loss many feel not having a father in the home. It creates a lot of uncertainty and insecurity that stays with you and can affect your relationships. I have also been discouraged at times trying to find the right vocation or trying to roll with the changes that a rapidly-changing business world requires- sometimes adapting, sometimes resisting.
But our experience of pain does not have to define us. It can be an instrument of shaping us into the people we are or can be. We can choose a different way. We can become healthy and, as Henri Nouwen says, we can become "wounded healers."

That is what happened for me. I found along the way people who really cared about me, listened to me, built into my life becoming mentors and friends- a youth pastor who took time for me, a friend who challenged my direction in life, a young father who "adopted" as one of his own teaching me about life, mentoring me. I got more training in college, in graduate school and through my years working with students. I have gone through different times of self-exploration - through a gifted therapist, through a training in spiritual formation and through becoming a husband and father. All these were gifts to me to help me become what I am today.

I believe there is hope. I believe that we can change. I believe there is a purpose for every life. I have seen people who were lost in addiction and pain find their way back. I have watched families become reunited. I have marveled at God's ability to restore what no one thought could be salvaged. Yet I also live with realization that not everything in life is how we expect it to be- there are disappointments, tragedies and sorrows in this life. There are also unexpected surprises and joys unimaginable.
That is why I am a life coach. Being part of the emotional, psychological and spiritual development and restoration in someone's life is my way of paying forward what has been done for me. Maybe I can help you too whatever you are. Call me at 657-242-5807.
